MEET Dr. Jessa Navidé,
Psy.D.

My path to becoming a psychologist has been shaped as much by my own journey as by my professional training.

Along the way, I discovered something that transformed the way I understand both healing and being human: the body is not simply something we carry through life; it is a profound source of wisdom.

Early in my career, a professor shared something that has remained with me ever since: we cannot guide others to places we ourselves have not reached. Those words inspired me to step beyond the familiar and into experiences that would profoundly shape both my life and my work. From the mountains of the John Muir Trail to living in a yoga house in Guatemala, learning Spanish, and volunteering in Peru, each experience challenged me and shaped not only who I became, but how I learned to accompany others. Over time, I came to understand healing not as fixing what is broken, but as remembering who we truly are.

These experiences taught me to listen more deeply to my body, my intuition, and the quiet wisdom that emerges when we slow down enough to hear it. That journey transformed the way I practice psychology. While I value the approaches that shape my work, I've come to believe that lasting change is less about having the right answers and more about creating space to truly listen. It has taught me to meet each person with curiosity, compassion, and a deep respect for their unique story, thoughtfully integrating approaches that honor the needs of the present moment.

Today, my work brings together traditional psychotherapy with somatic and nervous system-based approaches, mindfulness, trauma-informed yoga, and transformational practices. Rather than following a single method, I integrate these approaches in service of one goal: collaboratively creating a path that honors your unique story, strengths, and inner wisdom.

My own journey continues to remind me that healing is not a destination, but a path we walk with courage. Like any story worth telling, challenges arise along the way, and with each one we meet, we become freer and truer to ourselves. It is an honor to accompany others on that path, and I am deeply committed to walking my own.
